Let's just say it isn't just hype behind the TGR name..

Let's just say we should all be glad that Monokei was able to make this keyboard available for "the rest of us" mere mortals. There are no gimmicks with this keyboard, no RGB, no wireless, no screen, no knob. But in the most fundamental part of a keyboard it is without question one of the best - typing sound and feel. The keyboard is pure money; like money, it just amplifies the characteristics of whatever you put into it. Whatever switch and keycaps you put into it, will sound more like what they actually are than in any other keyboard. You don't need foam or any modifiers and you will hear exactly what sounds the switch and keycap combination you've put into the board is supposed to produce. The case fit is very tight and if you use the gummy O-ring mount I think it is actually stiffer than the top mount Polycarbonate plate mount. You can also use a hybrid top mount *with* the gummy O-ring as well as a slightly muted version of either the top mount or gummy O-ring mount. I think one of the reasons it produces the best sound and feel is that there are not "standoffs" for connecting the plate to the PCB. So every key is consistent with exactly what is under it in the bottom case. This is a true classic keyboard, the build fundamentals are executed with absolute perfection and the result is perfectly customizable sound and feel.

    Decent Board

Overall, the board is good. Gummy o-ring mount feels good, but top mount has a better sound. The board does suffer from some hollowness when using no foam, but it sounds great overall. I used HMX Clouds with top mount and no foam, and it sounds really good overall. A very nice clacky sound. The board may sound better with a longer pole switch like a HMX Xinhai, but it still sounds good. The spacebar absolutely slaps, and it's a great highlight of the board. The board is a little pricey at over $500, but it's a nice board to have as a daily driver for work.

    Beautiful Ano

Love this board it was my first big group buy purchase and it looks amazing. Anodizing is flawless and it feels great to type on. Using TTC Wilds and TX stabs on an alu plate.
